HEALTH-PREGN RO-HU AT A GLANCE

Romanian-Hungarian cross-border project with a wider focus on diagnostics related to infertility, healthy pregnancy and newborn care, eMS code ROHU-339, contract no. 90312/27.07.2021, is a project financed under the Interreg V-A Romania – Hungary Programme, Priority PA4 – Improving health-care services (Cooperating on health-care and prevention), Specific Objective SO9/a – Improved preventive and curative health-care services across the eligible area.

The project runs for 30 months, from 01.05.2021 to 31.10.2023, with a total eligible value of 2,492,080.65 EUR, out of which:

  • 2,118,268.55 EUR – European Regional Development Fund,
  • 351,714.65 EUR – State Budgets Co-financing,
  • 22,097.49 EUR – Beneficiaries own contribution.

The main overall objective of this joint project is to improve screening, diagnostic and preventive health care services in microbiology and human genetics aiming infertility, increasing maternal age, preconceptional, prenatal and postnatal diagnostics in the Romanian-Hungarian cross-border area, through a strategic approach by investing in medical diagnostic infrastructure, including laboratory reconstructions, upgrading equipment and implementing new methods and by sharing experience, transferring knowledge and exchanging know-how between the cooperating partners for the benefit of large patient populations and for reducing health care inequalities.

The project is jointly implemented by three partner institutions in cross-border area:

  1. University of Szeged (partnership leader),
  2. Government Office of Csongrád-Csanád County,
  3. Pius Brinzeu Emergency Clinical County Hospital Timișoara.
